Georgetown, DC is such an adorable place! I was elated when Estefanie and Griffin made plans with me to take pictures in Georgetown! We were blessed with a beautiful, crisp morning and enjoyed walking around the residential area of Georgetown and admiring all the beautiful historical homes. These two are so precious. They have such a sweet love for each other. Estefanie and Griffin met at college in Little Rock, Arkansas, about 3 hours from Memphis! (Small world). Griffin is finishing up his law degree in DC. Estefanie is from Venezuela and just finished a degree in Business Administration and Mass Communications. They are planning a September 2020 wedding and I know it is going to be absolutely gorgeous!
Good morning darling friends!
The sun is shining and I am currently making my to do list for today! I’ve got a question for you! Ever notice the longer you spend staring at your computer at work answering emails, writing proposals, working on reports or scrolling through Instagram that your eyes feel heavy or tired? Do you ever get subtle headaches or fatigue and wonder why you feel so tired?! Let me guess, you probably thought you slept well last night. Well, it is proven that we as a culture spend more time looking at screens than ever before. I certainly love scrolling through my Instagram - haha! At twenty-nine years old though, feeling fatigued and my eyes being tired is not on my agenda. This year, one of my goals is to be better about monitoring my screen time and being healthier — like being more conscious of protecting my eyes!
If eye and/or mental fatigue and mild headaches sounds familiar, I have some good news for you! Pixel Eyewear offers fashionable, non-prescription glasses for both men and women that are designed to help reduce and protect from blue light. These eyeglasses help reduce fatigue and tiredness (strain) in your eyes allowing you to be more efficient and protect your eyes! These glasses are great to wear at work, while you’re on your phone, laying in bed scrolling through Instagram or even watching tv. I will note that I personally have prescription eye-glasses because of a lazy eye. Several times over the last few weeks, I have found myself in situations where I did not have my prescription glasses with me. Luckily, I did have my pair of Pixel Eyeglasses in my bag and they were a huge help, reducing my eye fatigue and keeping me focused and efficient!
As wedding & fashion photographer, a lot of screen time is inevitable, so if there is a way to help protect my eyes, you better believe I am going to take it! My eyes are incredibly vital for me to continue doing what I love to do! :)
I am excited — Pixel Eyewear and I decided it would be fun to host a giveaway! Here’s how to enter:

A few weeks ago I flew up to New York City and got to finally meet Christina and Justin! They are having a beautiful June 2019 wedding at Stone Mill Inn near my hometown in Pennsylvania! We had been communicating via email and FaceTime, so I was excited to meet them in person, finally! You guys, they are SO FUN!!!! Immediately upon meeting them, we instantly clicked, like we were long time friends catching up after so much time away. Christina and I hit it off right away after she initially inquired about her wedding date, but there is something extra special and fun about hanging out in person.
Christina and Justin met in college at a local bar - to be precise. When I asked Christina to tell me a little more their story and how Justin proposed, this is what she said: “Our engagement story: Justin and I met in college at a bar/restaurant named Brix on a Sunday watching football playoffs. After locking eyes a few times across the bar, he worked up the nerve to come tap me on the shoulder. His opening line was, "Do you want to pick a song on the juke box?" and I responded, "Um.. Im kind of watching football." We both cracked up at his ridiculous line, and we ended up talking for hours and not even watching the games. For our engagement, we were driving past our college town and Justin suggested we have lunch where we met (which neither of us had been back to since graduating). Justin had called ahead and talked to the waitress about filming our engagement secretively. Unfortunately, right before Justin began his proposal speech, the waitress came within 3 feet of my face with the camera recording, and I asked Justin why she was filming us. It turned into a quick drop to his knee, some words I don't remember, me saying "Wait really?!" over and over, and then a ring on my finger. Although it wasn't the most magical proposal moment (thanks overly excited waitress haha), the place it was at holds a spot in our hearts, and Justin had planned the following 3 days to spend celebrate with our families <3.”
Christina is a nurse at a school in the heart of Manhattan (near the Flat Iron building — one of my favorite spots in the city), and Justin works in sales, also near the same area. They commute everyday on the subway from their cute little neighborhood in Queens. Christina is also a health coach. I follow her on Instagram and she’s inspired me to get into a regular exercise routine, eat healthy and meal prep for the week. She probably doesn’t know how much she’s inspired me. My clients become sweet friendships in my life.
Together, they have a major love for traveling and football (my kind of couple!). Right after their engagement, Justin and Christina took a trip to Europe and explored France, England, Italy and Ireland! (I am so jealous!). I already plan to ask for Christina’s frugal traveling tips and tricks. This girl knows how to travel well on a budget! :)
I couldn’t wait get into the city for their engagement session. We had a lot of fun grabbing taxis, dodging NYC traffic and chasing the sunlight before it set behind the city. Afterwards, we grabbed drinks and appetizers at one of their favorite Mexican restaurants. This engagement session is going in the books as one of my very favorites — more NYC sessions, please. ;)
